IF YOU can use knowledge,
perception and
understanding
To look beyond the
illusion of time
and all that is composed
therein
energy,
matter,
space;
If you can endeavor to escape
the capsule
that
encloses you
And open your eyes
beyond sight and sound;
If you can shatter pride and squelch ambition,
And see the utter
futility of striving
after
that which is merely temporal;
If you can realize the common
origin that the
world shares,
And teach your heart to
put all of life
on a par
with your own;
If you can see that black and
white are one
and the
same,
And love them equally
with equity,
justice,
and judgment;
If you can perceive the utter
simplicity of
complexity,
And yet never give way to
conception,
but to the veil of
essence which lies
behind
it;
If you can view your structure
as one en-
cased
in illusion,
And yet
ascribe value to your transitory
existence;
Then, the spiritual essence shall course
through thy veins,
And life and death shall be one and
the same;
The heavens shall reveal
themselves to you
in the night,
And the glory of
God shall be
Thy Light!
